Dallas Cowboys (8-6) vs. New Orleans Saints (6-8)
The Cowboys have won three games in a row and they need to stay hot to make the playoffs in 2012. The Saints won 41-0 at home against the Buccaneers to keep their very slim playoff hopes alive. Here is a look at the matchups in this game:
When the Cowboys have the ball: The Cowboys are going to come out throwing the ball, as usual, this Sunday. The Saints don’t have much of a pass rush, so Tony Romo should have time to survey the field before throwing the football. Look for Romo to spread the ball around to WRs Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and TE Jason Witten as the Saints have had huge issues stopping the pass as they are giving up 287.0 yards passing per game so far this year. DeMarco Murray is also going to get his fair share of carries against a Saints’ D that is allowing 146.3 yards rushing per game and 5.0 yards per carry so far this year.
When the Saints have the ball: The Saints have been more balanced offensively lately. That means that the front seven of the Cowboys will have to slow down RBs Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles, while getting good pressure on Drew Brees. If the Cowboys don’t get good pressure on Brees, they are going to be in some trouble. Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Jimmy Graham, Darren Sproles and Joe Morgan give Brees a lot of talented targets to throw to.
PREDICTION: COWBOYS 34, SAINTS 23
